LEARNING ENGLISH: WEB 2.0 TOOLS TO IMPROVE LITERACY SKILLS!

Dear students, welcome to the course blog. Here you will have the opportunity of sending your final work and reviewing your classmate's work as well. I want you to check the activity guide and rubric before creating your entry. Remember the activity guideliness. Please, use Netiquette rules




Activiy requirements


1. After you've made your essay, remember the group leader will be in charge of creating the entry and posting the essay.


2. After each student have made their essay, you are going to evaluate your classmate's work. Post a comment down each entry, take into account the activity guide and review your classmate's essay. 


3. Each group should participate in the discussion. Remember to use Netiquette rules.

ACTIVITY GUIDE




 -All students are required to use Web 2.0 tools and resources     provided by teacher to develop the following activity.
  

     -Objective: To improve literacy skills by using problem-solving activities and Web 2.0 tools.


      -Materials and sources: Video lecture and additional links.

     -Expected product: The final product will be in the form of an essay. The essay should be published in the course blog so that other students can access it and teacher can review it.

     -To develop this activity you need to watch the video lecture. Please watch the lecture the times you consider necessary and take notes. You can also research aditional sources if you like.

    -Once you have read the lecture, you are going to answer the questions. The questions will help you to recall the things you have learned and will be of great usefulness in writing your essay.


The following questions will help you develop the essay:

      -According to the lecture, How health can be defined?

    -Why the context in which the individual lives influences     his/her health and quality of life?

    -What are the habits people need to follow in order to improve their health?

    -How stress can affect a person’s health?
    -From your own perspective talk about the habits that can damage a person’s health condition.

   - How be can define ‘health determinants’?

     There are not examples and the description of the main issue is fairly accurate.

      The essay   contains a highly critical and accurate description of the main issue. It also takes into consideration possible solutions and relevant examples.

    The essay doesn’t have the required structure.

     The connection between the parts is unclear and the essay doesn’t integrate any of the principal ideas.

    The essay has many    spelling mistakes and there are many misuses of grammar.
